While announcing the results in Akure, the state capital, INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Akinwumi Olayemi Durotimi, who is also the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Lokoja, disclosed that Aiyedatiwa garnered a total of 366,781 votes. His closest rival, Ajayi Agboola of the PDP, received 117,845 votes, while the Labour Party secured 1,162 votes.
