Terrorists attacked Oil Village in Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State, on Sunday, abducting the 9-year-old daughter of a local farmer.

The police have not yet commented on the incident, but a source disclosed that the father expressed appreciation for the efforts of security agencies while appealing to the government and well-meaning individuals for assistance in securing the safe return of his daughter, who was taken from their home in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Speaking anonymously for security reasons, the father shared that the assailants arrived around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday night and left around 1 a.m. with his daughter.

The four-man gang reportedly scaled the fence near the Kaduna Refinery Quarters to enter the compound. Once inside, two of the attackers opened the gate for the others.

The assailants first tried to break into the house through the back and front doors but ultimately gained access to the girl’s room by climbing through a window.

The father recalled briefly interacting with one of the kidnappers through his window before members of the Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KADVIS) arrived, causing the kidnappers to flee.

Soon after, the Nigerian Army arrived with two truckloads of officers, followed by the police, but by that time, the kidnappers had already escaped.
