Controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, was reportedly arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) at the Seme border while attempting to flee to Benin Republic.

The news was disclosed by social media activist Martin Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), through an Instagram post on Monday.

According to VDM, Bobrisky was apprehended while trying to escape an ongoing investigation by the House of Representatives concerning bribery allegations involving officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).

In a video shared by VDM, he revealed a message stating, “Bobrisky was arrested this morning at Seme border post on his way to escape to Benin Republic. He sent someone to help him sign his international passport, and he hid in his car. The Nigerian immigration service is currently holding him.”

VDM has since called on both Bobrisky and the Nigerian Immigration Service to address the rumours and clarify the situation.

The arrest is said to have occurred just before Bobrisky’s scheduled appearance before a legislative panel investigating bribery claims. The crossdresser had previously been linked to leaked audio recordings in which he allegedly admitted to using a powerful “Godfather” to bribe his way out of prison and have a money laundering case dropped by the EFCC.

Despite the serious nature of the allegations, Bobrisky has yet to comment on his arrest or the ongoing investigation.
