Laila Abubakar, the daughter of Nigeria’s former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has married her partner Saleh Maitala.

The wedding took place at the national mosque in Abuja, attended by close family and friends who gathered to celebrate the couple’s vows.

The ceremony was marked by an enchanting atmosphere. Laila looked graceful in her beaded gown, and her veil, adorned with pearls, shimmered beautifully. Saleh Maitala stood by her side, dressed in a traditional black Babban Riga and matching cap, reflecting a refined style.

Atiku Abubakar, dressed in a bright white traditional outfit, was visibly proud and joyous on his daughter’s special day.

He shared his heartfelt wishes for the newlyweds on his X page, expressing hopes for their future filled with love and happiness. He also extended his gratitude to the esteemed guests who attended, underscoring his prominent role in Nigeria’s political sphere.

Videos and photos from the ceremony began circulating online, highlighting the significance of the event.

Key attendees included Rabiu Kwankwaso, the NNPP’s presidential candidate for the 2023 elections; former Kano governor Umar Ganduje; and Nasir el-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna.

Other notable figures present were Abdulsalami Abubakar, a former head of state; Sule Lamido, former governor of Jigawa; and Iliya Dammagum, the current acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
