AbdulMajid Danbilki Kwamanda, a prominent political commentator known for his outspoken views on national issues, has reportedly been severely beaten by unidentified youths.

The assault, allegedly motivated by his criticism of Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani on social media, was captured in a video that has since gone viral.

The video shows Kwamanda handcuffed and being brutally beaten with canes by several individuals. During the attack, the assailants hurled insults at Kwamanda in Hausa, saying, “Don Ubanka zaka Kara zagin, Governor Uba Sani, saanka ne, sai Kaci Ubanka,” which roughly translates to “You will insult Governor Uba Sani again, your father will suffer for it.”

Despite Kwamanda’s attempts to explain himself, the attackers forced him to his knees and continued to shout at him, demanding he remain silent.

Kwamanda, who is known to have heart problems and diabetes, was heard in the video pleading with his attackers, but this did not deter them from inflicting further harm.

The incident, which reportedly took place in Kaduna, occurred at night in an undisclosed location. The perpetrators, whose faces were fully covered, have yet to be identified.

Reacting to the incident, Kwamanda, who is alleged to have close ties with Vice President Kashim Shettima, vowed to take legal action against those responsible for the attack. “I will surely take legal action against Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and those who were asked to nearly kill me by excessive beatings, despite my health conditions,” Kwamanda declared.
