Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has expressed grief over the death of Kano State Leadership Newspapers Correspondent, Abdullahi Yakubu.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the Deputy Gov. Malam Ibrahim Shuiabu, on Friday in Kano.

”Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aminu Gwarzo, has, on behalf of Governor Abba Yusuf, extended his condolences to the family of the late Abdullahi Yakubu.

Yakubu passed away on Friday, aged 55, after a brief illness.

Gov. Yusuf expressed sympathy and acknowledged the loss that Abdullahi’s demise had caused.

The leadership of the Correspondents Chapel of NUJ, Kano, had on Friday announced the death of Yakubu.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Garko, and made available to newsmen in Kano.

Garko described the late journalist as a gentleman who died at a time when his services to humanity were needed.

He prayed for the strength and resilience of the family members, wishing them solace during this difficult time.

The late Yakubu has since been buried according to Islamic rites, and he is survived by a wife and children.
