The crescent moon for Zul-Hajj has been sighted in Saudi Arabia signifying that Eid Al Adha will be observed on Wednesday, June 28.

Daily News24 reports that an announcement by the Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court said the first day of the month will fall on Monday, June 19.

Similarly, the Sultanate Council Sokoto has declared Monday 19th June, 2023 as the first day of Zul-Hijjah 1444 AH.

Accordingly Wednesday 28th June, 2023 will be the day of Eidul Adha 1444 AH.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa‘ad Abubakar in a statement issued to newsmen wishes the entire Muslim Ummah happy Eidul Adha Mubarak in advance.

The Sultan had earlier asked Muslims to be on the look out for the Crescent moon on Sunday.

Abubakar, who is the President General Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), gave the directive in a statement signed by Prof. Sambo Junaidu, Chairman Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council, Sokoto.
