A 15-year-old student of Bishop Otubelu Juniorate, Trans Ekulu, Enugu, Lotanna Azuokeke, scored 99 marks in Mathematics in the just-concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Azuokeke, 15, scored a total of 337 marks in the examination, according to a statement by Dr Chiwuike Uba, Media Adviser to the Bishop of the Diocese of Nike (Anglican Communion), the Founder of the school.

Uba said Azụokeke, a native of Ọba in the Idemmili South LGA of Anambra State, scored 88 marks in Chemistry, 86 in Physics, and 64 in the English Language.

Varsity VC awards scholarship to 2023 UTME best student

The Vice-Chancellor, of Godfrey Okoye University (GOU), Enugu, Rev. Fr. Christian Anieke, has offered a full scholarship to the overall best student in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UMTE).

The Student, Lotanna Azuokeke was also offered a full scholarship to study in Godfrey Okoye College of Medicine.

Anieke made the announcement during the presentation of a car to the first male student “Vice Chancellor For One Day” of GUO on Friday in Enugu.

Speaking on the score, Anieke said, “The VC is offering this extraordinary student a full scholarship to study in our college of medicine, and this is in line with my passion for education, and desire to empower young people and make them extraordinary”.

Anieke added that the youths needed a system that can crush them, stressing that they can do a lot and compete with their colleagues globally if supported.

“Watch our under 17 and 21, they can do marvellously well. Nigerian youths are not lazy, I believe in what they can do and GOU has given them a face to show their strength,” he said.

Vanguard reports that a 400L student of the university, Vitalis Iloanuwusi, emerged the overall best student with Cumulative Grade Point of 5. O in two semesters for which was made GUO VC for one day and he was a first male student to win the position.
