The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Friday declared the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, Ugonna Ozurigbo winner of the Nwangele/ Nkwerre/ Isu/ Njaba Federal Constituency of Imo State, conducted February 25.

The collation officer, Prof Rosetta Okechukwu, who declared the result said Ozurigbo, polled 19,971 votes to defeat his closest rival, Nwugo Ozurumba of the Labour Party, scored 9,372 votes.

That candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Harrison Nwadike, came third with 8,991 votes.

He argued that the margin of votes of lead was higher than the number of Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, collected in areas the election didn’t take place.

Based on this, among other issues, the PDP candidate was declared winner.
