Alhassan Doguwa, majority leader of the house of representatives, has reportedly reconciled with Murtala Sule Garo, deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano state.

Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the APC, played a role in settling the rift between both men.

Last week, Doguwa was accused of attacking Garo with a teacup. The incident was said to have occurred at the home of the deputy governorship candidate.

The house of representatives member was reportedly angry that he was not invited to the meeting as a stakeholder of the party in the state.

The house majority leader denied the allegation.

“Contrary to what people are saying, I did not throw a teacup at him,” the lawmaker had said.

The Cable reports that a meeting was held in Kano on Tuesday where both men settled their differences.

The meeting was said to have been called at the instance of Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano state.

While Tinubu was meant to be at a town hall meeting organised by the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) and Arise Television on Sunday, he was meeting with Doguwa and other party stakeholders in Abuja.

Kano is one of the states in the country with the highest votes.

In 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari won Kano state with 1.9 million votes and in 2019, he swept the state with 1.4 million votes.
