Abdulgafar Ahmad, aka Cute Abiola, a popular comic actor and online comedian, has announced his departure from the Nigerian Navy for the sake of entertainment.

The comedian resigned just hours after Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq named him Special Assistant on Creative Industries.

Cute Abiola, who made the announcement on his verified Facebook account on Friday, said the Chief of Naval Staff approved his departure.

He stated that he would devote more time to his career in the entertainment industry.

Serving in the Navy, he claims, has helped instill in him the discipline required for a successful life.

“I am still a member of the Nigerian Navy family, and I pledge to continue to positively represent the Nigerian Navy in Nigeria and abroad.” “I am honored to have served in such a prestigious institution as the Nigerian Navy,” he stated.

While thanking Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff, and senior colleagues for their enormous contributions to his career development, the skit creator described the Nigerian Navy as his roadmap to a sustainable career path.

The creator of the skit was previously detained and punished by the Nigerian Navy in November 2021 for violating the armed forces’ social media policy after posting a video of himself in military uniform on social media.
