The Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO) has lauded Gov. Charles Soludo of Anambra for his prompt action in shutting down Winters Garden Hotel over an alleged viral video sex party held in the hotel.

This is contained in a statement signed by the CLO Chairman, Mr Vincent Ezekwueme and made available to newsmen in Onitsha on Saturday.

The CLO applauded and extolled Gov Soludo for his relentless efforts in inculcating moral rectitude in his administration and the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Soludo shut down Winters Garden Hotels and Suites in Awka, the state capital, over an alleged viral video of sex party purported to have held in a section of the hotel facility.

According to the statement, it is most despicable that such happened in the university community in spite of lecturers’ six-month old strike which had forced students on unscheduled vacation.

“There is need to get to the root and ascertain the actual authentic promoters and organizers of the devil event; Nigerians are eager and inquisitive to know the organizers and the motive behind it.

“It is very unfortunate and detestable that this amorous and disgraceful act has brought about negative image and impact on the state and her citizens,” he said.

Ezekwueme described the act as shameful, painful and devastating shock and effects on the youth, society and state.
