“The body of 30-year-old Zahraddeen Yusuf of Lafia village, Madabe Ward, Buji LGA was recovered on Monday at a local pond called Ruwan Kidibo after he tried to cross the water with his brothers on Saturday to reach his farm,” he said.

“Also in Kaugama LGA, NSCDC received a report of a drowning incident of a 15-year-old boy, Anas Hamza at Garin Badde, Marke Ward, Kaugama LGA.

“The victim was returning home from the farm when he decided to take bath from a nearby pond, and unfortunately, he was drowned and later, his shoes and clothes were sighted by the pond side.”

The two bodies were handed over to their respective families and had since been committed to mother earth in line with Islamic injunctions, he said.
