As the gale of defection continues affecting political parties in Kano State, Former Kwankwaso’s Medical Doctor Umar Tanko Yakasai dumps opposition party NNPP to APC.
Yakasai said the decision was taken to give Gawuna’s team total support to win the Governorship election in the election year.
Dr. Umar Yakasai who is a Kwankwaso’s personal medic, defected from NNPP with massive stalwarts from their former party.

“Kano State Deputy Governor Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna is the only candidate with capacity to chair the affairs of the millions of people in Kano, been somebody who deputised His Excellency Dr. Ganduje for years, and the only longest serving Commissioner in the cabinet from 2015 to date.
“So Gawuna proved himself excellently well in many areas of human endeavours that any good politician will love to be in his camp, and as well any responsible men and women in Kano will do everything possible to see that he continued from where Baba Ganduje stopped”, Dr. Yakasai.
He added that what inspired him about Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna is the fact he uses every chance to come to him for the benefit of the people in his constituency.
Speaking Earlier, one of the APC Leaders at Kano Central, Shehu Aliyu Ungoggo, said the defection of Dr. Umar Tanko Yakasai will be of great advantage to their move and APC to win the next year’s election.
Ungoggo maintained that people of that nature need to be given extra attention so as to move the party forward.
The gathering was attended by many party supporters, including the Nassarawa Local Government Chairman Auwalu Lawan Shuaibu Aranposu, Former Local Chairman Lamin Sani Kawaji, among others.
