The member representing Nasarawa federal constituency at the National Assembly, Alhaji Nasir Ali Ahmed has felicitated the people of Kano State on the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the federal lawmaker urged the people of the state to use the period of Eid-el Kabir in praying for continuous peace in the state and the nation at large.

Alhaji Nasir Ali Ahmed reassured his constituents of his commitment to ensuring that they were well represented at the green chambers.

He charged Muslims to uphold the virtues of Islam which he said taught its followers how to live in peace not only with fellow Muslims but followers of other religions.

Ahmed maintained that peace and unity could not be achieved in Nigeria without tolerance among followers of the two major religions of Islam and Christianity.

He used the occasion to call on Muslims to reflect on the significance of the sacrifice epitomized by Eid.

Furthermore, he urged Muslims to show love and care to their neighbours and others, while celebrating the spiritually important event in their lives.

Ahmed also hoped that Eid will be a source of blessing, peace, prosperity and safety for Nigerians noting that with prayers and dedication, the challenges of the country will become history.
