The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 2,000 personnel in all the 23 Local Government Areas in Kaduna State for the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The Corps Commandant in the state, Mr Idris Adah stated this in a statement by the corps Public Relations Officer, DSC Habeeb Badamasi on Thursday in Kaduna.

Adah enjoined residents and members of the public to be on alert and report suspicious acts and persons to the corps and other security agencies.

He said that present threats to security in the country were surmountable, especially with the support of citizens.

The commandant said that the challenges of banditry and kidnapping among others, bedevilling the nation was worrisome.

He said that the Kaduna command recently completed the training of 264 personnel on July 5.

“These trained corps members will add up to the existing manpower in providing more security within and outside the state.

“Officers and men will be deployed to area of worship and recreation centres before, during and after the festive period, “he said.

He reiterated the command`s determination to protect critical national assets and infrastructure.

The commandant called on parents and guardians to monitor the movement of their children/wards to prevent them from becoming victims of criminals.

He appealed to residents to continue to have confidence in security agencies saddled with the responsibilities of protecting lives and property.

Adah said that the lessons of the Eid-el- Kabir were obedience, discipline and most of all, spirit of sacrifice for the sake of Allah.

“The love shared during the season should be extended throughout the remaining period, ” he said.

The commandant urged Muslim faithful to pray for peaceful coexistence and congratulated the people of the state and wished them a successful Eid-el-Kabir Celebration. (NAN)
