Sen. Ibrahim Gobir (APC-Sokoto East) has promised to tackle the menace of insecurity head-on, if he is elected as the governor of the state in the state.
NAN reports that Gobir is one of the frontline gubernatorial aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Gobir told newsmen in Sokoto on Sunday that he has a three-point blueprint that would be made public at the most appropriate time.

According to him, the blueprint has three key issues as its thrust to enable him change the face of the state.
“You know the issue of insecurity is something that we have to tackle head-on and make sure that it works,” said the aspirant.
The lawmaker said that the whole state must be secured from banditry.
“There is also the issue of lack of industrialisation of the state and this has to change.
“I want to establish at least one company in each of the 23 local governments of the state, depending on the comparative advantage of each of the local governments in terms of resources,” the lawmaker added.
Gobir further promised to focus on lack of youths and women empowerment to reduce poverty and unemployment.
Besides, he pledged that his administration would give priority attention to having a functional education in the state, if given the mandate.
This, Gobir, said is to make graduates more productive, so as not to wait for elusive white collar jobs upon graduation.
On unseating the ruling PDP in the state, the aspirant said “it will be a walkover” because of the administration’s failure to deliver dividends of democracy.
Gobir said: “I believe it will be done as quickly as possible. In fact, by Noon on the election day, we will conclude everything.
“We will finish everything and PDP is finished. There is no way they can succeed.”( NAN)
