The President, ECWA Church, Good News Upper Luggere, Jimeta-Yola, Rev. Maxwell Kuri has called for the government’s support at all levels in the rebuilding of churches destroyed by Boko Haram.
Kuri, who made the call during his sermon on Sunday in Yola, said the call became imperative to ensure the stability and security of worshippers in places affected by the activities of the terrorists.
The cleric, however, called on religious leaders to fulfil their own part by offering fervent prayers for Nigeria for peace, love and unity among all people.

He also said Christians should pray for divine intervention over the country’s insecurity challenges, especially in the Northern part of Nigeria.
“We are calling our members to be God-fearing people and obedient to authority, as well as to be prayerful at all times.
“Church members are advised to provide useful information or intelligence to leaders and government to aid in curbing attacks on innocents,” Kuri said.
On politics, Kuri advised members of the Church to participate actively in political activities by joining political parties of their choice, obtaining voters card to vote and being voted for to bring positive change to the country.
According to him, the Church has lined up economic empowerment plans and is partnering with NGOs and government agencies to ensure members are self-reliant and job creators.
Kuri thanked Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa for his administration’s efforts to protect citizens’ lives and properties irrespective of the tribe or religious inclination.
He also commended law enforcement agents for keeping law-abiding citizens safe and making endless sacrifices to keep the country safe and peaceful. ( NAN)
