The Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC), Lagos command, Mr Eweko Okoro, on Wednesday said the command will ensure that residents enjoy a blissful yuletide celebration in the state.

Okoro, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, said the corps has been fortified to face the tasks ahead during yuletide.

“This command has rejigged its personnel to ensure safety of lives and critical infrastructures,” he said.

He further assured that all the dark spots in the state would be monitored effectively.

Okoro stressed that the corps would not condone any nefarious activities of street urchins to jeopardise peaceful coexistence in the state.

Okoro, however, appealed to residents to hint the command of any criminal activities in their neighborhood.

“NSCDC would protect the identity of the residents who avail the corps of useful information on the nefarious activities of criminals.

“This cooperation will enhance the efficient monitoring of the state,” he added.
