The Kwara government has promised to give all necessary support to the Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASAA), with the necessary equipment for effective operations as a revenue outfit in the state.

The Commissioner for communications, Hon. Abosede Buremoh, made the promise during her official visit to the agency on Wednesday in Ilorin.

She said that the ministry is working round the clock to ensure that some of their requests are attended to accordingly.

Buremoh explained that the ministry has already written a memo to the Governor, Abdulrahaman Abdulrasaq, and it is getting necessary action and approval.

She commended the agency for surpassing the revenue target in the outgoing year and urged the management of the agency to do more in subsequent years.

The Commissioner also charged the staff of the agency to desist from any act that can tarnish the image of the agency in particular and the state in general.

Earlier, the Director General (DG) of the Agency, Mr Olorunshola Omotayo, tabled some of the challenges affecting the agency as a signage and outdoor regulatory body in the state.

Omotayo emphasized the importance of the poster remover machine, water tank and other equipment that will serve as a carrier for equipment more so that the electioneering period is around the corner.

Speaking on staff training, the DG stressed the need for training and retraining of the staff in order to meet the global trend in the signage Advertisement and outdoor industry.
