Kano State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo has lauded Nigerians for their resilience and contributions to national development since independence.

Garo said though Nigeria may not have achieve some of its developmental aspiration since independence, the country has made some giant stride that are outstanding.

In a message to celebrate Nigeria’s 61st independence anniversary, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo emphasised the need for peaceful coexistence as no nation can achieve greatness in an unstable environment.

He urged Nigerians to intensify prayers for the nation to overcome its security challenges, noting that with the commitment of every citizens and the support towards the security agencies , the country would come out of this social menace stronger.

The commissioner applauded the developmental drive and leadership qualities of the state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

According to him, the developmental achievement of the state government with the spread of projects across the 44 local government areas in the last 6 years of the administration is commendable.

‘’Ganduje as architect of modern Kano has ensure that developmental projects are not concentrated in the city, hence, every local government areas of the state are not left out with one program or another, ‘’Garo said.

He appealed to the people to sustain the support of the administration to do more and protect projects situated in their localities against vandals.
