Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has renewed his administration’s commitment to prioritise quality healthcare provision to the state’s residents.

The governor stated this at the end of a one-day Kano Primary Health Summit 2021, organised on Tuesday to implement the Minimum Service Package (MSP) policy document.

The theme of the Summit was: “Strengthening primary health care towards the attainment of universal health coverage through full implementation of Minimum Service Package”.

Ganduje said that his administration had focused on improving primary healthcare services to enhance effective service delivery since he assumed office.

“This administration had employed 44 qualified medical doctors, and one doctor each was posted to each of the Primary Healthcare  Centres in every local government area of the state, to provide the needed healthcare attention at the facilities for the citizens,” he said.

The governor, however, called on wealthy individuals and philanthropists to support the government’s efforts by donating the needed drugs and equipment to various primary healthcare facilities.

He also commended all the stakeholders who donated and made commitments toward providing quality healthcare services in the state.

He assured  them that his administration would make judicious use of the donations to provide quality healthcare  services at the grassroots level. (NAN)
