Members of the Kano Youth Political Forum have blasted Southern Governor’s Forum for not showing concern about the current problems bedevilling the country. Instead, the issue of the Presidency is talked about.
A communique issued by the Auditor General of the forum, Mujahid Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, expressed concern about the destruction of government facilities and the killings of innocent citizens.
The Forum demanded that anyone who would contest for the presidency in 2023, either from the South or North, must have the required leadership qualities and ability to unite and ensure the progress of this country.
Mujahid Kwankwaso also expressed displeasure on the southern Governor’s rejection of a 3% share of the oil revenue to the host community as recommended by the federal House of Representatives.
The Forum believed that most of the resolutions of the 17 southern governors are sentimental.
They also noted that a president could come from any region so long he could deliver the dividends of democracy to Nigerians.
The communique advised the governors to employ all necessary means of settling the problems ravaging their region before considering which region would produce the next president.
