Two members of the Kano State House of Assembly have died within hours, plunging the legislature into mourning.

One of the lawmakers, Hon. Aminu Sa’adu Ungoggo, who represented Ungoggo Local Government Area, reportedly fell ill shortly after arriving at the Assembly complex on Tuesday.
His death was confirmed by the Assembly’s spokesperson, Malam Kamaludeen Sani Shawai, while speaking with journalists.

In a related development, another lawmaker, Sarki Aliyu Daneji, who represented the Kano Municipal Constituency, also passed away shortly after the death of the Ungoggo representative. The development was disclosed by the Kano State Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
Dawakin Tofa explained that Daneji had been ill and was admitted to the hospital a few days before his death.
