The suspect was arrested on November 2 after the agency received credible intelligence that the women were being hidden in a house in Kano as part of the trafficking plan.
NAPTIP’s Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Habib, confirmed that the group included five Nigerians and two Nigeriens. He explained that the women were first taken to Accra, Ghana, where visas were processed and travel arrangements were made for their eventual departure to Saudi Arabia.
The agency revealed that the transportation was scheduled from Abuja Airport on December 3 but was intercepted by NAPTIP officers. While one suspect was taken into custody, others involved in the operation managed to escape.
Investigations are ongoing as NAPTIP works to identify and apprehend the remaining individuals linked to the trafficking scheme.
