The Kano State Judicial Staff Commission (JSC) has suspended two staff members without pay and issued a warning to a High Court judge as part of measures to uphold integrity and accountability within the judiciary.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Justice spokesperson, Baba Jibo Ibrahim, the decisions followed the commission’s 88th meeting chaired by the state Chief Judge, Dije Abdu Aboki.
The commission reprimanded Dambatta High Court Judge Umar Bala Musa for delaying the issuance of court documents beyond the constitutional seven-day limit, despite investigations lasting three months.
Records officer Saifuddeen Mukhtar Abdullahi was suspended without pay while under investigation for allegedly diverting staff cooperative funds using forged documents. Similarly, Kamal Ado, a clerk at Kurna Court, was suspended pending a federal court case over narcotics, assault on public officials, and witness tampering allegations.
Meanwhile, the commission lifted a four-year promotion ban on Ibrahim Adamu after he completed his suspension and showed remorse.
