Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has expressed profound grief over the death of respected Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.

Ganduje, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, described the late cleric as a towering spiritual leader whose lifelong dedication to teaching, peacebuilding, and moral guidance deeply shaped communities in Nigeria and beyond.
He noted that Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi earned admiration across religious, political, and cultural lines through his humility, scholarship, and unwavering commitment to righteousness.
Ganduje extended condolences to the Bauchi Emirate, the Bauchi State Government, the cleric’s family, his students across the world, and the entire Tijjaniyya community. He said the loss is monumental, adding that the Sheikh’s principles and exemplary life will remain a source of inspiration for generations.
He prayed for Allah’s forgiveness upon the scholar, asking that he be granted eternal peace and admitted into Aljannatul Firdaus.
Ganduje added that Nigeria has lost a voice of wisdom and unity, describing the late Sheikh as a spiritual pillar who will be greatly missed.
