Family members confirmed his passing, noting that the cleric is survived by several wives and more than eighty children. They added that his funeral prayer will be held tomorrow, Friday, in Bauchi town, led by Sheikh Sharif Ibrahim Saleh.

Sheikh Dahiru was widely regarded as a prominent spiritual figure whose teachings shaped religious practice for many followers across Nigeria and beyond. He studied under renowned scholars including Shaykh Tijani Usman Zangon-Bare-bari, Shaykh Abubakar Atiku, and Shaykh Abdulqadir Zaria, and he received the Tijaniyyah Tariqah. His father, a Tijani muqaddam (Imam), had been granted formal authorization (ijāzah) to teach the tariqa.
