A 14-year-old boy, identified as Sulaiman Nura Ado, has drowned in a pond known as Ruwan Promise in Kano State.

The tragic incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, according to a statement issued by the Kano State Fire Service on Sunday. The report was said to have been lodged by one Ghali Isah Muhd.
Spokesperson of the Fire Service said a rescue team was immediately dispatched from the State Fire Service Headquarters under the supervision of Director Alhaji Sani Anas. The team recovered the boy from the pond but found him already unconscious.
Despite efforts to revive him, the boy was confirmed dead, and his body was later handed over to Police Constable Mubarak Ishak.
The Fire Service extended its condolences to the bereaved family and urged parents and guardians to caution their children against swimming in open water bodies, noting that many ponds in residential areas pose serious safety risks.
