The Kano State Police Command has successfully rescued three kidnapped victims and recovered exhibits in two separate operations carried out across Kano and Kaduna States.

The operations were launched following directives from the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, as part of intensified efforts to combat kidnapping and other forms of violent crime in the state.

According to a statement issued on Friday, October 10, 2025, by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the first operation took place on October 7, 2025. The Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad, working with the Surveillance Team from Bebeji Division, rescued two victims after receiving actionable intelligence about an escaped victim.

The statement identified the victim as 21-year-old Abdul Hamid Bello, who had been kidnapped and severely beaten by his abductors before managing to escape. He later guided the police to the kidnappers’ den at Saya-Saya, Ikara Local Government Area of Kaduna State, where another victim, 65-year-old Musa Idris, was rescued.

On sighting the police team, the kidnappers fled, leaving behind a motorcycle and a rope, which were recovered as exhibits. The two victims were later reunited with their families and taken for medical treatment.

In a related operation on October 9, 2025, police operatives from the Anti-Kidnapping Squad secured the release of another victim, 19-year-old Ashiru Murtala, who had been kidnapped in Beli Village, Rogo Local Government Area of Kano State, on October 5. He was found abandoned by his abductors in a sugar cane farm at Hunkuyi, Kudan Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

CP Bakori ordered that all rescued victims receive immediate medical care and reaffirmed the Command’s determination to apprehend the fleeing suspects. He emphasized that “there is no hiding place for criminals in Kano State.”

The Command commended the officers involved in the operations and expressed appreciation to members of the public for their continued cooperation. It also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements to the nearest police station.
