Senator Barau Jibrin, Deputy President of the Senate and representative of Kano North, said the people of Kano State are eager to support President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections, expressing gratitude for his responsiveness to the state’s needs.

He made the statement on Monday while announcing automatic scholarships for undergraduate students from his district at Yusuf Maitama Sule University of Education in Kano. The Senator highlighted several initiatives by President Tinubu that have positively impacted the state, including upgrading the Federal College of Education to a full-fledged university, renaming the institution to honor the late statesman Yusuf Maitama Sule, and converting Kabo Polytechnic into a university, projects long pursued and finally realized through the President’s intervention.

The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Atta, also revealed that the Federal Government has approved N200 billion for a light rail linking Kaduna to Kano, with work expected to commence soon. He added that other projects under his ministry have received special support from the President.

Barau Jibrin reiterated the people of Kano’s deep appreciation for Tinubu’s commitment to the state’s development and emphasized their readiness to return the favor at the polls in 2027.
