The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has launched an investigation into the alleged diversion of over N4 billion to the Dala Inland Dry Port project, reportedly benefiting the family of former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The funds were allegedly used to award contracts for infrastructure development shortly after the state’s 20% equity in the project was transferred to Ganduje’s children in 2020, effectively removing the state from ownership.
PCACC Chairman Saidu Yahya disclosed that the investigation is near completion and a prima facie case has been established. Public petitions prompted the probe, leading to the questioning of several individuals. One person has been arrested and later released on bail after providing key information. Sources indicate that one of the parties involved is currently in Yola, Adamawa State.
The alleged diversion took place during the Ganduje administration, during which the state reportedly lost its stake in the multi-billion naira port project. Earlier reports by PREMIUM TIMES revealed that the former governor allegedly converted the state’s equity in the Dala Inland Dry Port to himself and his family.
The PCACC plans to soon file the case in court, aiming to hold those responsible accountable and recover any misappropriated funds.
