Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has sworn in Dr. Aliyu Isa Aliyu as the new Commissioner for Animal Husbandry Development.

The ceremony took place at the Kano Government House on Friday. Speaking at the event, Governor Yusuf highlighted Dr. Aliyu’s extensive experience in livestock, agriculture, education, research, and administration.
He said these qualifications would be vital in introducing innovative strategies aimed at boosting economic growth through livestock farming, improving food production, and expanding livestock exports.
The governor urged the new commissioner to swiftly implement modern livestock programs, collaborate with relevant agencies and organizations, and ensure that communities particularly herders and rural farmers benefit from government initiatives.
In his remarks, Dr. Aliyu thanked Governor Yusuf for the trust and pledged to work tirelessly to enhance animal husbandry in the state. He also promised to create job opportunities for youth and women and to develop measures to tackle food insecurity and rising prices.
