The twins arrived at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport with their parents, where they were met with a warm reception from government officials, community leaders, and representatives of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The delicate operation, carried out at the King Abdullah Specialist Children’s Hospital in Riyadh, was performed under the directives of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The 14-hour surgery, completed in nine phases, brought together a team of 38 medical experts, including pediatric surgeons and neurospecialists, due to the twins being joined at the lower abdomen, pelvis, and spine.
Saudi Arabia’s Consul General, Khalil Ahmed Al-Admawi, described the surgery as part of the country’s humanitarian commitment, citing the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre’s longstanding efforts in supporting families worldwide. He noted that the Saudi Siamese Twins Separation Program has now recorded 65 successful separations, offering help to 150 sets of twins from 25 countries over the past 35 years.
Governor Yusuf praised the medical team in Riyadh and pledged full support for Hassana and Hussaina’s welfare and education, assuring that the state will sponsor their studies up to university level.
