Abdulmumin Jibrin, a federal lawmaker and prominent figure in the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has hinted that former Kano State Governor and 2023 presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, could still join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking on Wednesday, Jibrin explained that Kwankwaso has never completely shut the door on discussions with the ruling party, stressing that the possibility of working with President Bola Tinubu remains open.
He noted that Kwankwaso has consistently maintained an open stance towards political dialogue, making collaboration with the APC a potential option.
When asked about his own political direction, Jibrin declined to confirm whether he would follow the same path, maintaining that he takes independent decisions without requiring Kwankwaso’s approval, even as a member of the Kwankwasiyya movement.
Recently, however, Kwankwaso dismissed claims of imminent plans to leave the NNPP, insisting that any talks regarding the 2027 elections would be reached collectively.
