According to a statement issued by his media aide, Muttaqa Babire, the initiative held on Friday is part of the senator’s drive to empower young people and promote digital engagement.
Sumaila noted that social media has become a powerful tool for influence, creativity, and innovation, and supporting its users will help translate online participation into meaningful real-life impact.
“This effort is aimed at bridging the gap between digital participation and tangible empowerment,” the senator said.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the support and promised to channel the funds into sustainable ventures that would improve their livelihoods.
