An EFCC source confirmed that the investigation has reached an advanced stage following the arrest of some of Kyari’s close associates. These individuals were interrogated over the management of funds allocated for the maintenance of Nigeria’s refineries, Leadership Newspaper reports.
The commission has also placed Kyari on its watchlist and secured a court order to temporarily freeze four bank accounts linked to him. The probe centers on allegations of conspiracy, abuse of office, and money laundering during his tenure at NNPCL.
The case has been adjourned to September 23 for further updates as the EFCC continues to examine the activities surrounding the refinery maintenance funds.
