According to the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasir Mu’azu, the government acted swiftly to reinforce security and provide support to the affected community. The incident occurred in Unguwan Mantau, where the community had successfully defended itself against bandits just two days earlier.

Residents had set an ambush against the criminals, rescuing victims from Ruwan Sanyi village and seizing three motorcycles along with two AK-47 rifles. The bandits reportedly launched a reprisal attack in retaliation for the community’s earlier resistance.

Dr. Mu’azu confirmed that security forces, including the Nigerian Army and Police, have been deployed to restore order in the area. He also expressed the government’s condolences to the bereaved families while emphasizing continued support for community-driven security efforts.
