Speaking at the family residence in Lokoja, Ayobami’s elder brother, Timothy Aiyepeku, said their father had been deeply traumatized by the murder. “The loss of Ayobami affected him greatly. He could not recover from the shock,” Timothy told our correspondent.

Ayobami Aiyepeku was killed on July 22, 2025, in Lokoja, Kogi State. According to the Kogi Police Command, he was allegedly murdered by his friend, Jacob Adebayo Oluwapelumi, in an office near the Government House/GRA area. Reports indicate the suspect later took his own life.

The family has called for a thorough investigation into Ayobami’s death, expressing concerns about a possible conspiracy.
