Governor Yusuf said his government has reopened skills acquisition centres across multiple sectors, enabling thousands of young people to start their journey towards self-reliance. He added that direct employment opportunities have also been provided in health, education, agriculture, and public works.
He further revealed plans to reopen the Kiru Reformatory Centre to rehabilitate and reintegrate young offenders, particularly those recovering from drug addiction, into society as productive citizens.
Highlighting strides in technology, the governor pointed to the creation of the Kano State KASITDA and the successful hosting of the International Conference on Technology and Computing, both aimed at positioning Kano as a hub for innovation and digital development.
“On this International Youth Day, we celebrate the resilience, creativity, and potential of our young people. My government will continue to invest in their future through job creation, education, technology, and a resolute fight against drugs,” Yusuf said.
He called on community leaders, parents, educators, the private sector, and other stakeholders to work together in creating an enabling environment where the youth can thrive and achieve their dreams.
