The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned its members against engaging in activities that undermine the party’s unity and electoral chances, particularly those openly backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.

In a statement issued on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) expressed displeasure over recent public endorsements of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by some prominent PDP members.
The NWC cited Section 10(6) of the PDP Constitution, as amended in 2017, which forbids members from aligning with other political parties in ways that could damage the PDP’s interests. According to the committee, such actions risk creating division, fuelling disaffection, and weakening the party’s electoral prospects.
Relying on Section 59(1) of the party’s constitution, the NWC said it had formally reprimanded members involved in what it described as anti-party activities. It warned that further breaches would attract stiffer disciplinary measures.
The committee urged all members to remain steadfast and focused on the PDP’s growth, especially ahead of its national convention scheduled for November 15 and 16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
