The newly completed facilities, located in Bompai and along Zaria Road, include more than 300 modern residential units, a 48-office administrative block, a standard armoury, a transport workshop, shopping outlets for the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), worship centres, paved roads, and essential support infrastructure.
While addressing officers and guests during the event, the IGP said the development is not just about new buildings but a clear demonstration of his leadership’s commitment to making dignity and welfare central to policing in Nigeria.
“No officer should be expected to protect the nation by day and retire to poor living conditions at night,” Egbetokun stated. “This project reflects our determination to link officers’ performance to their welfare and create an environment that supports professional excellence.”
He also credited the success of the project to strong collaboration with private sector partners and stakeholders who worked with the Force to deliver the facilities to standard and on schedule.
The IGP thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his administration’s support to the Nigeria Police Force through the Renewed Hope Agenda, which he said has enabled significant reforms and visible improvements in policing infrastructure across the country.
Egbetokun added that similar initiatives are being implemented in other states as part of a nationwide plan to transform police services and improve living and working conditions for personnel.
The police boss restated the Force’s commitment to institutional renewal, noting that a motivated workforce is critical for ensuring public safety and advancing national development.
