A 17-year-old boy identified as Lurwanu Suleiman has lost his life after drowning in a water body in Dandalama village, situated in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.

The Kano State Fire Service disclosed that the incident occurred on Tuesday. In a statement released on Wednesday, the service’s Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, said the emergency team was alerted at exactly 12:54 p.m. by a resident, Malam Aminu Dandalama.

Firefighters arrived at the location around 1:25 p.m., but by the time they reached the scene, the teenager had already passed away. His body was recovered and later handed over to the Ward Head of the village, Alhaji Safiyan Usman.

The cause of the incident remains unclear, and authorities have launched an investigation to uncover what led to the drowning.
