The incident was confirmed in a statement issued by the LGA Information Officer, Sumaila Gunduwawa on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the fire occurred on Monday, shortly after students had vacated the school premises for the end-of-term holiday. The entire hostel was razed, with most of the students’ personal belongings consumed by the flames. Fortunately, no lives were lost.

Chairman of Sumaila Local Government, Farouk Abdu, visited the school to assess the level of destruction and sympathize with the school management and affected students. He announced a donation of 50 bags of cement to support the reconstruction of the burnt hostel.

The school’s proprietor, Rev. Alhassan Musa, expressed relief that no one was injured and thanked the local authorities for their swift response and support.
