The withdrawal is connected to the ongoing case of Federal Republic of Nigeria vs. Sulaiman Aminu (Charge No. FHC/KN/CR/93/2025), who is also known as Danwawu. In a letter addressed to the Deputy Registrar of the court and signed by his media aide, Abdullatif Auta, the commissioner said his decision was based on personal reasons and the need to protect the integrity of his office as a public servant.
Namadi explained that his initial role as surety was purely a personal decision guided by legal provisions, longstanding family ties, and humanitarian concerns. He stressed that the move should not be interpreted as support for drug-related offences.
He also reaffirmed his loyalty to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, members of the State Executive Council, and the people of Kano State. The commissioner pledged his continued support for government efforts to curb drug abuse and promote safety across communities in the state.
