Kwankwaso raised the concerns on Thursday during a public hearing on the ongoing constitutional review held in Kano. He pointed to what he described as a growing imbalance in how infrastructure and resources are allocated across the country.
He highlighted the poor state of roads in the north, using his recent journey from Abuja to Kano as an example of the neglect. He contrasted this with what he views as significant infrastructure investments in the southern region, raising concerns about regional inequality.
The former governor emphasized that while infrastructure development is important for national growth, it must be evenly distributed to avoid alienating any part of the country. He noted that the current approach to resource sharing is unfair and fails to address the pressing needs of northern communities.
Kwankwaso urged the federal government to adopt a more equitable system that promotes inclusive development. He called for urgent action to ensure all regions of the country benefit fairly from national resources.
