The Federal Government has announced that the online recruitment portal for Nigeria’s paramilitary agencies will officially reopen on Monday, July 21, 2025, following a brief suspension aimed at improving system performance.

This update was shared on Sunday through the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), the body responsible for managing recruitment into key paramilitary organizations across the country.

According to the statement, all applicants who had previously started their applications are encouraged to return to the portal at https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng to complete the process.

“Please be kindly informed that applicants who successfully initiated their applications are advised to retrieve their applications and complete the applications they have initiated. The system will reopen on Monday, July 21st, 2025,” the board said.

The CDCFIB, which oversees recruitment for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), and the Federal Fire Service (FFS), temporarily halted the process on July 16 to implement critical system upgrades. These upgrades are expected to enhance the portal’s capacity to accommodate high traffic and ensure a smoother, more transparent experience for applicants.

Background on the Suspension

The current recruitment exercise was initially set to launch on June 26, 2025, but was postponed to July 14 after technical issues were reported by users attempting to access the portal. Frequent crashes, login failures, and incomplete application submissions plagued the early phase, prompting the board to pause operations and fortify the infrastructure.

Application Guidelines and Requirements

The recruitment campaign is open to eligible Nigerians across three main cadres:

  • General Duty/Superintendent Cadre
  • Inspectorate Cadre
  • Assistant Cadre

Applicants must possess qualifications ranging from SSCE to bachelor’s degrees and professional certifications, depending on the cadre applied for.

Key requirements include:

  • Nigerian citizenship by birth
  • Age range: 18 to 35 years
  • Height: Minimum of 1.65m for men, 1.60m for women
  • Male chest measurement: At least 0.87m
  • Proof of medical fitness from a recognized government hospital
  • Clean criminal and financial record

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next phase. The CDCFIB has also warned applicants to beware of fraud, stating that no third party is authorized to communicate on its behalf, and the entire process is free of charge.

The board reiterated its commitment to maintaining a fair and merit-based recruitment process, ensuring equal opportunity for all qualified Nigerians to serve their country in key paramilitary roles.
