The sanctions were approved during the commission’s 84th meeting held on July 18, 2025, according to a statement on Sunday by the commission’s spokesperson, Baba Jibo Ibrahim.

Adamu Salisu, a Registrar at the High Court, was demoted from Grade Level 13 to 12 and removed from his position as Registrar. Investigations revealed he had falsified affidavits, forged the signature of a bailiff, and illegally signed documents in the capacity of a Commissioner for Oaths.

Yusuf Ayuba, serving as a Clerical Assistant at High Court No. 8, Miller Road, was demoted from Grade Level 5 to 4 after being absent from his duty post for four months without official approval or justification.

The disciplinary actions were taken to deter similar behaviour and address concerns over rising cases of absenteeism and misconduct in the judiciary. The commission restated its position of zero tolerance for any form of indiscipline across all levels of the judicial workforce.
