Armed bandits have abducted Hon. Buhari Aliyu Daudawa, the ward councillor representing Daudawa in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, during a late-night attack on Monday, July 14, 2025.

The attack, which occurred under the cover of darkness, saw several other residents reportedly seized alongside the councillor, though the exact number of victims remains unknown.

A security analyst who goes by the name Bakatsine confirmed the incident via a post on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Bandits invaded Daudawa… and abducted several people, including the ward councillor.”

As of Wednesday morning, authorities were yet to issue an official statement. The Katsina State Police Command and other security agencies have remained silent, leaving families in distress as they await word on the fate of their loved ones.

This latest incident adds to the growing list of attacks in the area. Just weeks earlier, on July 4, two farmers were killed and several others abducted by gunmen near Yankara, about 10 kilometres from Daudawa.

With violence escalating across Faskari LGA, residents say the situation is crippling farming activities, especially during this critical planting season. Local leaders have urged the government to take swift and decisive action to rescue the victims and restore peace to the region.
