Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Tuesday joined other dignitaries in Daura, Katsina State, to pay final respects to former President Muhammadu Buhari, who was laid to rest according to Islamic rites.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, several serving ministers, and political associates of the late president were among those present at the solemn event. Notable figures in attendance included former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
In a condolence message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, Governor Yusuf described the late president as a leader who demonstrated patriotism, compassion, and a deep love for Nigeria.
“Former President Buhari’s death is shocking and sad. He was a towering figure whose life embodied discipline, integrity, and unwavering love for Nigeria,” Governor Yusuf stated. He also extended heartfelt condolences to Buhari’s family, the government and people of Katsina State, and all Nigerians mourning the former leader.
Governor Yusuf also offered prayers for Allah’s mercy and forgiveness for the late president and urged his family to find strength in the legacy he left behind.
